A little bit of knowledge: China plates and serving pieces are considered high quality ceramic dinnerware made from refined clay that is fired at exceptionally high temperatures. The result is a smooth, non porous, and elegant finish to the piece. Historically the term “China” stems from the Western practice of naming these premium and delicate dishes after the country of origin (China) - where porcelain making originated centuries ago.

Microwave Safety:

Why? Just dont. Microwaves didnt exist back when some of these were made and they certainly weren’t intended to be radiated.

Plus, China typically features gold, silver, or platinum borders and they will spark and damage the machine.

Dishwashing Guidelines:

  • I strongly recommend handwashing only as to preserve the heirloom piece, designs, and writing.

    Older heirloom pieces or those with metallic rims should be handwashed using mild soap.

Soap Restrictions:

Avoid using citrus or lemon-scented dish soaps, as the harsh natural acids can slowly corrode and dull precious metal accents

FAQ’s answered and a few tricks regarding enjoying your new treasure:‍ ‍

*All of the China pieces I choose to work with are vintage, lovely, beautiful and unique.

*I carefully check each piece used to ensure that there are no chips, cracks or any other defects. All of the dishes used are in excellent pre-loved condition. Light wear is to be expected.

*These plates are meant for light food use. Light use means- dry food items (nuts, dried fruits, crackers, pretzels, popcorn, vegetable chips, cupcakes, etc).

  • Please note that these pieces have been specifically curated as a decorative and hilarious heirloom. They are intended strictly to elevate your wall gallery, mantel, or tabletop display, and are not intended for everyday food use.

Are these plates food safe?

That is a broad stroke question as a lot of vintage China that was made prior to 1970 is considered to have lead in it.

Based on the extensive research I have done: re-iterating what is listed above- don’t use them as your everyday dishes- purely because they will scratch from cutlery and will be damaged.

Plus they should be handwashed only. However, the sealant used on the plates is considered FDA food safe compliant.

  • Can you put a piece of cake on it and eat it? Sure! (thats light use)

  • Can you use these dishes when friends come over and put some crackers and snacks on them? Why not! (again, light use)

  • Can you use the dish as a “catch all” for my keys, rings, and other stuff I loose? Most definitely!

  • Can you just use a plate holder and have it displayed in the kitchen? Absolutely!

POLICIES:

All sales are final. There are no returns.

  • The reason all sales are final and there are no returns is not because we have something to hide or are selling a terrible product. It is purely because returns kill a business- especially a small business.

  • It is a complete financial loss. There could have been someone else who wanted the product you purchased and now that sale is gone. Shipping fees are ridiculous and are not refundable to either party, credit card fees are outrageous and cannot be returned to the seller, and tax collected is already given to the Government… get it?

However, don’t be worried… I guarantee each and every product that is sold is inspected by me personally. I inspect each item thoroughly and if it doesn’t pass my “eagle eye” test, then it doesn’t ship.

Now, if the item(s) arrived damaged, smashed, or otherwise, please contact me and we can figure out how to remedy this with the shipping provider.

Shipping Costs:

Lets be honest, shipping costs suck! I make zero money on shipping.

Per the USPS, each time a gallon of gasoline goes up 1 cent (a penny), they lose 18 million dollars per day. A regular stamp is up to 82 cents (Sept 2026). So shipping is expensive and this (USPS) is the most inexpensive way to ship.

The dishes need to be packed well and safely so they arrive unscathed. That means a solid box, packing materials, etc.

No way to get around this. Its a bummer for all.

Ordering in Quantity:

Please contact me directly to place a larger order.

That way I can combine shipping for a large order and put everything in one box.
